How do I get my UIF compliance certificate?

UIF stands for Unemployment Insurance Fund, and the South African Workers are required to contribute to this fund to access it when unable to work due to several circumstances. Employers who have employees need to issue their UIF Compliance Certificate.  This certificate ensures that the employer follows the UIF rules and fulfils the requirements after certification. You can apply for the certificate online from your position.

Procedure to get a Compliance Certificate

If you are applying for a UIF Compliance Certificate, then you have to go through these two basic steps;

Register for UIF Compliance Certificate

  • Access the UIF Compliance Certificate website.
  • Click on the “Register” button.
  • If you hold a UIF account, then click the “Yes” button and input your Reference Number. But if you didn’t have a UIF account, then click the “No” button and enter your CK Number.
  • Choose an individual and input the UIF number.
  • Fill in all the required fields accurately.
  • Click on the “Register” button.

Apply and Get UIF Compliance Certificate

    • Click on “Login” after visiting the UIF website.
    • Enter the required data: ID number, Password, and UIF Reference Number.
    • Agree with the UIF Terms and Conditions.
    • Now, create your certificate by clicking on the “Generate Certificate” button.
    • Then, tab the “Confirm” button and start the certificate generation process.

Note: If you are considered non-compliant as an applicant, then a Rejection Letter with reportis generated for you by the system. If you didn’t agree with the system decision, then click on the “Dispute” option that is located on the bottom left of the screen. A dispute is only accepted with an attachment reason, and it takes 10 days for processing.
